On March 24, 2005, NBC premiered The Office, a mockumentary sitcom adapted by Greg Daniels from the British series created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Set at the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the show starred Steve Carell as regional manager Michael Scott. It ran for nine seasons and 201 episodes, concluding May 16, 2013. The series received 42 Emmy nominations and five wins.
