The Siege of Acre in 1291 marked the end of the Crusades era. After a six-week siege, Mamluk Sultan Al-Ashraf Khalil captured Acre, the last major Crusader stronghold in the Holy Land, on May 18, 1291. With this defeat, the Crusaders lost their final foothold after nearly two centuries of Christian rule in the region.
