King Tutankhamun, also known as King Tut, died unexpectedly at about 18 or 19 years of age. He ruled Egypt as pharaoh for approximately 10 years (c. 1332-1323 BC). Though his reign was short, he is known for reversing the religious reforms of his father Akhenaten and restoring the traditional Egyptian pantheon of gods. His legacy was largely obscured until the discovery of his nearly intact tomb in 1922.
