Birth of Siddhartha Gautama

Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known as the Buddha, was born in Lumbini to Queen Maya and King Suddhodana of the Shakya clan. Traditional accounts place his birth around 563 BCE, though scholarly estimates vary. His birth is considered one of the most significant events in Buddhist history, as he would go on to found Buddhism after attaining enlightenment later in life.
