The Three Musketeers (Les Trois Mousquetaires), a historical adventure novel written by French author Alexandre Dumas in collaboration with Auguste Maquet, was first serialized in the newspaper Le Siècle from March to July 1844. The novel, set between 1625 and 1628, follows the adventures of d'Artagnan and his friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, and became one of the most popular and enduring works of French literature.
