Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels authored a 23-page pamphlet for the Communist League, printed by J.E. Burghard at 46 Liverpool Street in London's Bishopsgate district. Written in German, the text analyzed class struggle and proposed a political program for the working class. The pamphlet appeared just days before revolution erupted in France, and within months uprisings spread across Europe. Danish, Polish, and Swedish translations followed within the year.
