Pong was the first commercially successful arcade video game, developed by Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell and engineer Allan Alcorn. The game featured simple table tennis gameplay with two paddles and a ball, and became a sensation after its prototype was installed at Andy Capp's Tavern in Sunnyvale, California. Pong helped establish the video game industry and sparked the arcade gaming boom of the 1970s.
