The Inca Civil War was a conflict between two half-brothers, Huáscar and Atahualpa, for succession to the throne of the Inca Empire following the death of their father Huayna Capac in 1527. The war lasted until 1532, when Atahualpa defeated Huáscar, only to be captured by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro shortly after his victory.
