Foundation of the Achaemenid Empire

The Achaemenid Empire, also known as the First Persian Empire, was founded by Cyrus the Great in 550 BCE when he defeated the Median Empire. At its height, it was the largest empire the world had seen, spanning from the Balkans and Egypt in the west to the Indus Valley in the east, governing multiple cultures and civilizations under a centralized administration.
